IT IS common nowadays that some students, after they graduate high school, would not be able to proceed to take their chosen degree at college. Let me discuss what technicalvocational-live li hood( TV L) education is. TVL, also known as tech- voc education, is one of the tracks of the K-12 program.

The Department of Education made this course possible for those people who are on the track of thinking if they will or will not able to pursue any degree after senior high school. This track helps a person to earn money immediately after they graduate from high school.

One of the good things TVL offers is you can enjoy and be confident in entering the world of jobs even without a college diploma. It makes sure students are equipped with job- ready skills.

TVL recognizes the struggles and needs of students when it comes to career and job finding as early as possible.

Another good thing about this course is that it invests primarily on skills that can get one the required Certificate of Competency ( COC) and National Certificate (NC). These two are essential when a person is looking for better career opportunities in the fields of agriculture, electronics and trade.

TVL has four strands: home economics ( HE), information and communications technology ( ICT), agri-fishery, and industrial arts.

Most important, TVL – thru the acquisition of COC and NC – is a big help for those who aspire to work abroad. Getting the two certificates makes a person more job-ready and the skills that they gained would surely prepare them as they join the workforce overseas.

As someone who understands the value of education and its importance in our lives, I strongly believe that the TVL track is not only a big help but an assurance that it is possible to have good- quality jobs even without a college degree or diploma.
