Stakeholders’ strong support needed for a better school
WHAT makes a better school? Many factors may consider in achieving better school but most people say that better school is achieved through the collective efforts of the school administrator, teachers, parents, and stakeholders who collaboratively worked, actively engaged and share responsibility for developing lifelong learners equipped with 21st century skills and upholding the values of being Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa.
Better school is defined as school with superior quality or which has greater excellence. Aside from dedicated teachers, good leadership, the use of varied teaching strategies and approaches, the use of support instructional materials, effective classroom management, and – among others, I could say – a strong support of stakeholders in school and in its different activities, programs and projects may make a school a better one.
Who are our stakeholders in school? And why is it important to have stakeholders? The glossary of education reform defined stakeholder as anyone who is invested in the welfare and success of a school and its students, including administrators, teachers, staff members, students, parents, families, community members, local business leaders, and elected officials such as school board members, city councilors, and state representatives.
