Drug sting op nets farmer

BA­COLOD City–In Hi­ma­may­lan City, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, a farmer was ar­rested in a drug buy-bust op­er­a­tion.

He was the 38- year- old Christo­pher “Tope” Garde, a po­lice re­port showed.

Garde was caught af­ter he sold sus­pected shabu to an un­der­cover of­fi­cer in Si­tio Sawan­gan, Barangay Liba­cao around 6 p.m. on Sun­day, the re­port added.

J oint per­son­nel f rom the Hi­ma­may­lan City po­lice sta­tion and the 2nd Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal Po­lice Mo­bile Force Com­pany staged the en­trap­ment op­er­a­tion.

Re­cov­ered from Garde’s pos­ses­sion were four sa­chets of sus­pected shabu val­ued at around P2,000 and drug para­pher­na­lia, po­lice said.

Garde, de­tained at the Hi­ma­may­lan City po­lice sta­tion lockup fa­cil­ity, faces charges for vi­o­la­tion of Re­pub­lic Act 9165, or the Com­pre­hen­sive Dan­ger­ous Drugs Act of 2002.

The sus­pected drugs seized from him were turned over to the Crime Lab­o­ra­tory in Iloilo City for ver­i­fi­ca­tion./
