ALL schools need a head teacher for the school to run smoothly and in order as to a certain country who needs a president, a company who needs a CEO and a group who needs a leader.

Head teachers are leaders and leaders are like normal members should be good followers too. Just like any other leaders, the role of the head teachers covers many different areas including leadership, teacher evaluation, student discipline, and many others.

Being an effective head teacher is hard work and is also time-consuming. Head teachers or head leaders are among the most important members of a school community, directing overall prospects for students and staff. That is why the head teachers’ role is so vital in running a successful school environment.

Actually, a good head teacher is balanced within all his/ her roles and

works hard to ensure that that he/she is doing what they feel is best for all constituents involved. Head teachers play big responsibilities in their schools. The scope and weight of their responsibilities are surely greater and bigger among all other teachers and staff. For instance, head teachers are the people who are responsible in making tough decisions. They need to balance their responsibilities to different groups within the school community.

In that manner, good head teachers need to understand the pressures teachers feel in the classrooms, and how to remove them. Leading a school also means being prepared to experience the work expected of staff. This makes their job more challenging and more thrilling. They need to show strong good sense of direction and needs to prove themselves as talented leaders.

Also, successful head teachers show great determination, with the willpower and patience to see things through. They are the people who are willing to take risks and are really steadfast in challenging under performance or poor behavior.

Moreover, head teacher’s role offers the opportunity to make a difference on a scale that’s probably unlike any you have ever known. It is a privilege to have the chance to help a school to develop in a way that aligns with your own vision and values.

See? Just like any other job it is not easy to be a head teacher. As what was said in the film “Spiderman,” “With great power comes great responsibility.” And these responsibilities are there not only to develop and enhance our inner self but also to help others hone their skills and abilities.
