EB Magalona ‘salvage’ victim dies in hospital

BACOLOD City – A man b e l i e v e d t o b e a vi c t i m of s ummary e x e c u t i o n d i e d a t a hospital here.

T h e u n i d e n t i f i e d v i c t i m was f ound i n B a r a n g a y Ta b i g u e , EB Magalona, Negros Occidental on Thursday.

According to Police Captain Joseth Catonina, municipal police chief, r e s i dents f o u nd t he v i c t i m with wounds near a sugarcane field.

To their surprise, the man was still conscious. The locals immediately contacted authorities. The victim was brought to t he Corazon Locsin

Montelibano Memorial R e g i o n a l H o s p i t a l where he eventually died.

Catonina, meanwhile, believed t h e v i c t i m p o s s i b l y k n e w h i s a s s a i l a nt s .

The man was not a resident of t he t own, Catonina stressed, as “n o o n e h e r e c o u l d p o s i t i v e l y i d e n t i f y him.”/

ILOILO City – A man was arrested i n a drug buy- bust operation in Barangay Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

Allan Bitalac, 34, sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop for P2,200, police said.

He was caught around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Bitalac was detained i n the l ockup cell of the municipal police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./
