SEN. MIGZ ZUBIRI – ILONGGO IN THE SENATE

-

MANY ARE asking: With Sen. Franklin Drilon set to retire from politics when his term ends on June 30, 2022 who will be the voice of the Ilonggos in the Senate?

Ang masaligan na lang gid sang mga Ilonggo nga mangin tingog nila amo si Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, a true-blue Western Visayan.

For those who do not know yet, Senator Migz’s father, Jose Maria Rubin Zubiri Jr. – currently the governor of Bukidnon province – is a Negrense born and raised in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental and even studied at Kabankalan Elementary School and finished his secondary education at La Salle CollegeBacolod (now University of St. La Salle).

No wonder Sentor Migz is fluent in Hiligayon and why he loves Western Visayas.

Just recently, Senator Migz voiced alarm over the government’s plan to import sugar. This plan is inimical to the local sugar industry.

Just a few months ago, Senator Migz also filed Senate Bill No. 2453, or the Negros Island Region Act. This measure proposes to bring together Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Bacolod City into a single region to be called the “Negros Island Administrative Region”. This is good news to all Negrenses.

With Migz in the Senate, Western Visayans are assured of competent representation. He has our best interest at heart.

May your tribe increase, Senator Migz!
