DOLE releases P15.76M assistance for sustainabl­e livelihood program of marginaliz­ed sectors in Region 6

I L O I L O C i t y - The Department of Labor and E m p l o y m e n t ( D O L E ) released P15,762,772 for the implementa­tion of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program ( DILP) which has benefited 1,037 individual­s from marginaliz­ed sectors in Region 6.

Based on the data of Arlyn Siatong, head of the Technical Support Services Division, Employment Promotion Workers Welfare of DOLE-6, in the first quarter of this year, they released more than P15 million to fund the project proposal of the marginaliz­ed sectors under the DILP.

DILP or the Kabuhayan Program of DOLE is a flagship program of the agency that aims to help marginaliz­ed groups such as self-employed workers who are unable to earn sufficient income, unpaid family workers, low- waged and seasonal workers, workers displaced or to be displaced, marginaliz­ed and landless farmers, marginaliz­ed fisherfolk­s, women and youth, persons with disability, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, victims of armed conflicts, rebel returnees, and parents of child laborers.

Siatong assured that the project is sustainabl­e and has uplifted the lives of the recipients because DOLE also conducts regular monitoring with the local government units (LGUs).
