CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES’ FORUM: ONE BRAVE ANTIQUEÑO SHOWED UP

-

THERE are three candidates for congressman in Antique. But yesterday’s candidates’ forum for them organized by the Antique Capitol Press Corps and Antique PNP Press Corps was graced by only one – Atty. Ade Santillan Fajardo, former national president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Many were wondering where the two other congressional candidates were – Antonio Agapito Legarda and former congressman Paolo Javier. Diin sanda?

Ayon sa aming bubuwit, many Antiqueños were terribly dismayed by the nonappearance of the two other congressional candidates.

While the forum was a venue for the candidates to lay bare their platforms and agenda, it was also designed to give opportunity to the Antiqueños to size up the candidates, test their wisdom and grasp on issues. Therefore, the two candidates’ absence from the forum yesterday deprived the Antiqueños of that golden opportunity. Tarso!

On the other hand, the Antiqueños were very appreciative that Atty. Ade Fajardo graced the candidates’ forum. They said the platforms and agenda of the true-blue Antiqueño lawyer enlightened them.

Antiqueños also appreciated the chance given them to get to know Atty. Ade up close and personal through the candidates’ forum.

Indeed, showing up in forums like this is like attending a job interview with the Human Resource (HR) Department of a prospective employer. Election candidates are applicants to be of service to the people, the employer. They must welcome the scrutiny and not avoid it. Do you agree, Antique Provincial Election Supervisor, Atty. Wil Arceño? By showing up in the forum answering queries from the media and being open to scrutiny, Atty. Ade Fajardo showed high respect to the Antiqueños. He is transparent, honest, reliable, and brave.

Inday Annabel P. “dies-dies” smiling!
