P1.7-M ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – A suspected drug runner was arrested in a buy- bust operation at the Reclamatio­n Area that was already a part of Bacolod City’s Purok Lampirong in Barangay 2 early morning yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Christian “Nonoy” Oliveros of Purok Malipayon in the city’s Barangay 35.

According to Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcemen­t Unit (CDEU), Oliveros worked as a courier and his responsibi­lity was to pick-up illegal drugs and deliver it to the buyers, primarily truck drivers working around the city’s Reclamatio­n Area.

Mogato said the suspect had been operating for a few months.

Police recovered three sachets and three knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 250 grams and valued at P1.7 million.

Mogato added they were now investigat­ing who was Oliveros’ of drugs.
