FINALLY, after two years of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Carabao-Carroza Festival of Pavia, Iloilo pushed through.

Congratulations to the men and women of the municipal government of Pavia for organizing and staging the festival, which annually pays homage to the town’s farming and agriculture industry, and its symbol – the hardworking carabao.

This year is the 50th celebration of the Carabao-Carroza Festival. It is, in fact, the oldest institutionalized festival in the province of Iloilo.

The highlight is the carabao race. Carabaos line up for a 110-meter race at the Pavia National High School grounds. This year, the race winner is a “pink” carabao. Ano ayhan ang buot silingon sini?
