Tupas maintains top spot for councilor in pre-election surveys

ILOILO City – Councilor Candice Magdalene Tupas remains the top choice for councilor in Iloilo City, according to preelection surveys. Tupas is running for her third and last term. Based on random and reliable scientific surveys, Tupas is consistently No. 1.

She also appears to be the only candidate for councilor endorsed by Sen. Sonny Angara, Sen. Migz Zubiri, former senator Bam Aquino, Ilonggo actor Quezon City congressman Alfred Vargas, Uswag Ilonggo’s No. 1 nominee Jojo Ang, and especially her husband former No. 1 Iloilo City Councilor Lex Tupas and his UGYON group.

The lady city councilor also got the backing of former Iloilo City mayor Jed Mabilog, Pink Roses (formerly known as Red Ladies), vendors association, jeepney cooperatives, trisikad association, tricycle association, LGBT groups like Aura Iloilo, women’s groups and youth groups.

More endorsements for her also came from senior citizens associations, men’s groups, Jesus is Lord Community, Baptist Church, Dios Gugma Community, Muslim Federation, Iloilo Business Club, Iloilo Hotel and Restaurant and Resorts Association, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Iloilo Chapter.

One of the Tupas couple’s wedding godfathers, Ilonggo senator Frank Drilon, said during their recent 12th wedding anniversary that Candice is doing a good job serving his kasimanwas in Iloilo City and is praying for the continuous success of his ihada.

With all these endorsements, Tupas’ re-election is looming. Thus, she is thankful for all the support from the city’s 180 barangays.

A performing city legislator, Tupas has authored 22 ordinances and 37 resolutions mainly focusing on health, women and children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and terminally-ill, tourism and the local economy of Iloilo City./
