Rahman Nava returns as Guimaras governor

J ORDAN, Giumaras – Joaquin Carlos Rahman Nava is returning as Guimaras governor. He defeated rival Jose Ramon Cacho on May 9.

Nava got 92,570 votes. Cacho only had 3,262 votes.

Nava is taking over from Gov. Samuel Gumarin who ran for mayor of Buenavista town and won on Monday.

On t he other hand, reelection­ist Vice Gov. John Edward Gando garnered 57,746 votes t o defeat challenger Vicente De Asis who got 33,319 votes.

Meanwhile, reelection­ist Guimaras congresswo­man Lucille Nava collected 93,994 votes to defeat challenger Diosdado Veloso who got 2,684 votes.

1. Cecile Gumarin – 35,927 votes

2. Aurelio Tionado – 28,951 votes

3. Perfecto Habaña – 22,295 votes

5. Roger Artajo – 12,118 votes

6. Pacifico Talabero – 5,389 votes

For Sanggunian­g Panlalawig­an, 2nd

Provincial District 1. Felipe Nava – 49,004 votes

2. Alejandro Araneta – 36,149 votes
