FISCALIZERS IN THE CITY COUNCIL

IN ILOILO City, the next city council will be dominated by allies of Mayor Jerry. Ten of the 12 winners in the race for city councilor are his teammates in Team Uswag.

Only two “outsiders” made it to the so-called “Magic 12” – reelectionist Dr. Candice Tupas and the comebacking feisty councilor Atty. Plaridel Nava.

It is good that these two public servants made it to the winning circle. Dr. Candice and Atty. Pla have proven themselves to be excellent legislators through the years. They are smart and hardworking. They always have valuable inputs. Their track records in the city council are beyond reproach. We can’t help but feel sad remembering the late councilor Atty. Joshua Alim. He would have surely won had he not passed on to the Great Beyond. He would have been an excellent colleague of Dr. Candice and Atty. Pla serving as fiscalizers in the city council.
