Slim win for San Lorenzo reelectionist vice mayor

GUIMARAS – Reelectionist Vice Mayor Constantino Cordero of San Lorenzo town won by just two votes in the recent elections.

He got 6,935 votes while his challenger, Wilme Denila, had 6,933 votes.

Cordero was the candidate of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan while Denila ran under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

Denila won’t contest the result.

“Naperdi ako sang duha ka pontos. Sa akon mga supporters, thank you, thank you so much. We did a good fight,” he said.

In the race for mayor, San Lorenzo incumbent mayor Ninfa Gajo was unopposed. She got 10,942 votes.

On the other hand, the winners in the race for San Lorenzo Sangguniang Bayan member were the following:

* Ariel Zambarrano – 10,492 votes

* Ma. Juliet Tamayor – 8,417 votes * Jim Gajo – 8,395 votes * Jose Rolly Ramos – 8,128 votes * Peter Tanaleon – 7,825 votes * Jimmy Gallego – 6,961 votes * Ercedita Espago – 6,630 votes * Romulo Galfo – 6,253 votes San Lorenzo had 18,700 registered voters i n 12 barangays./ PN
