Cops recognized for keeping polls peaceful

ILOILO City – For keeping Western Visayas peaceful during last week’s elections, s everal police of f i c e r s were awarded with medals ( Medalya ng Kasanayan) by Police Regional Office 6 ( PRO- 6) director, Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo.

The awarding yesterday took place at the PRO- 6 Grandstand in Camp Delgado.

On election day, May 9, the PRO- 6 was able to tally 24 total crime incidents – lower compared to the election day in the year 2016 and 2019 with 125 and 62, respective­ly.

Only three incidents were recorded, which were much lesser compared to 12 in May 13, 2019 and 26 in May 9, 2016.

The awardees were the following:

* Police Major Mark Cordero – Regional Budget and Fiscal Section (RBFS)

* Police Major Peter John Pisueña- Chief Real Property and Infrastruc­ture
