TEMPORARY RELIEF FOR ILOILO CITY, PAVIA, SANTA BARBARA, LEGANES

-

IT WOULD have been a disaster kun nadayon ang water rationing. Iloilo City, which prides itself as a premier and livable city, wala tubig? Haslo!

Residents of Iloilo City and the municipalities of Pavia, Santa Barbara and Leganes in Iloilo province are thus heaving a sigh of relief. Wala water rationing nga matabo for the next six months.

Thanks to Gov. Toto and Mayor Jerry for brokering a provisional bulk water supply contract between Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) and Flo Water Resources (Iloilo), Inc.

Without these two leaders, piho gid ma-pila balde ang mga residente sang cuidad kag sang tatlo ka mga banwa.

Within six months, however, dapat maka- agree ang MIWD and Flo Water to a mutually acceptable water price and finalize a much longer supply contract. Otherwise, water crisis na naman in the city, Pavia, Santa Barbara and Leganes.

Ayon sa aming bubuwit, people are hoping and praying nga indi man tani pagpatam-an kamahal ang water rate. They are willing to pay higher than the current rate, but not very, very high naman.

Come to think of it. Water used to be a free commodity for humans to use. Now, it is a business.

Clean, potable water now comes with a price – and in some cases pwerte ka mahal. If you can’t afford it, pauhaw ka na lang eh. Wala ligo-ligo, wala laba-laba. Tarso!

Say mo, Inday Jessica?
