Ginebra acquires Gray, Dyip gets de Liaño

MANILA – FilipinoA m e r i c a n f o r w a r d Jeremiah Gray is set to become a Kabarangay once he fully recovers from his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear injury.

In a surprising move on Tuesday, Terrafirma Dyip traded their No. 2 overall pick during the PBA Season 47 Rookie Draft on Sunday to the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings.

In return, the Dyip received Filipino- Italian gunner Javier Gomez de Liano, Gin Kings’ No. 8 overall pick in the justconclu­ded draft , and sophomore guard Brian Enriquez.

The 6-foot-5 Gray is a welcome addition for the Gin Kings once he recovers from his ACL tear, which he sustained while playing for TNT Tropang Giga in the PBA 3x3 last year.

The 25-year-old highf l yer out of Division I I school Dominican University of California has previously suited up for the BBC Sparta Bertrange in Luxembourg before moving to the Philippine­s.

Gray then played for several years with San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League and was part of Mighty Sports-Philippine­s that played in various tournament­s abroad.

Bowler Alexis Sy-Chua clinched a silver medal in the women’s singles event, while Philippine­s notched two team silver medals in the men’s sabre team and women’s epee team events.

In other athletics results, Guimarasno­n Joida Gagnao (3000m Steeplecha­se), William Morrison (men’s discus throw), Alyana Nicolas ( pole vault) and Jelly Paragile ( pole vault) captured bronze medals each./
