CAPIZ – The Provincial Health Office ( PHO) headed by Dr. Ramon Alex Nolasco is reminding travelers to be conscious of their road safety.
The month of May is Road Safety Month.
“Siguruhon nga safe ang pagbyahe sa tagsa ka adlaw kon magkadto sa trabaho ukon sa mga okasyon upod ang mga abyan kag pamilya,” a reminder from PHO read.
The office also issued road safety tips.
“Ang salakyan ginagamit agud kumportable kag mahapos nga makaabot sa pagakadtuan. Indi karera ang kinahanglan, kundi safe travel,” it added.
Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A declares the month of May as Road Safety Month to promote road safety and raise awareness on the health impact and economic costs involved.
Regularly or make it a habit to check the car’s condition is among the tips for a safe road travel.
It is also important to always put the seat belt on and use signals when turning, and do not change lanes too often. Traffic rules and pedestrian lanes should be respected.
One must avoid using cellphone when driving and should not drive if under the influence of alcohol, or when feeling drowsy.
Motorists are also advised to always check the speed limit and blind spots./
