BACOLOD City – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Negros Occidental assured the public it still has sufficient supply of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In fact, according to PHO Cold Storage Facility officerin-charge Dr. Claudelia Josefa Pabillo, they could not accept any additional vaccines at the moment because the province’s ultra low freezer is still full.

She lamented that there are still people hesitant to be vaccinated against COVID-19 such as senior citizens.

Pabillo also noted that not too many seem keen to get booster shots.

On Wednesday, t he Department of Health (DOH) central office announced t hat elderly and health frontliners may now avail their second booster shot against COVID-19.

This came f ollowing t he recommendation of t he Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) and after t he Food and Drug Administration earlier granted emergency use authorization ( EUA) on the administration of the second COVID-19 vaccine booster to senior citizens and frontline healthcare workers aged 18 and above./
