Ice cream vendor drowns in Mambusao river

CAPIZ – An ice cream vendor in Barangay Poblacion Proper, Mambusao town is missing.

The pedicab of 73- yearold Leodegario Soriano was recovered in the barangay river, leading villagers to conclude that he like fell from the river’s embankment into the body of water.

A search, rescue and retrieval operation was

launched early morning on May 19 by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction

and Management Office ( P D R R M O ) , C a p i z Emergency Response Team ( CERT), Mambusao DRRMO, Coast Guard Station- Capiz, C a p i z B u r e a u o f F i r e Protection SRF Marine Fire

Unit, Mambusao Bureau of Fire Protection, and barangay officials.

Soriano was last seen alive leaving his house around 4 a. m. yesterday to buy ice cubes./
