- ❙ By: Jeson A. Telesforo, Teacher III Eleodoro J. Ponsaran Integrated School District of Sigma

In reality, studying is more than what we are expected. Study hard is always the usual drama of students when times of finals. It is important for us to have a degree later on. It can alleviate our family from the darkness of life. It can make us successful on our pathways.

There are different kinds of students in school. Me, as a teacher, I observe my students as my children. I guide them, advise them and educate them. I always keep on touch to my students, they share whatever struggles they have. Being a teacher, we need to be flexible. As these millennial are very deliberately aware to what is happening to our society. This is where they become weak in times of trying or doing such thing that can damage their lives. Like teenage pregnancy, HV positive, a victim of bullying or a drug addict. This makes their parents worried.

But all of this, the momentum of being a student is always great. Especially to high school students. This stage, they say, the most memorable one. On our elementary stage we sometimes treat our school as our playground, where we can play whatever we want.

Being a high school student, you never expect the unexpected. You need to survive from bigger responsibilities, more complicated and difficult homework. They experience sacrificing a lot of time and brain -dying activities just to maintain the standards of their teachers.

High school is different from elementary. Many things has change. You need to adjust into it. We, teachers are the eye of every parents who wants to know about the activities of their children. I know that in high school are the most adventurous schools days for all students, this where they begin to do things they never done in elementary. They may experience crazy things and funniest moment in class. Everyone may not call a classroom if there’s no talkative students.

I am aware that some of my students skip classes, uninterested to my discussions, sometimes I caught them cheating when we have exams. But it doesn’t mean that I tolerate them, it’s just the normal life of being a students. Others say that no one haven’t experienced cheating during exams, it is just natural but not tolerably suggested. Happiest moment for me, is when I look my students on their normal life.

We know that there are pressure being top of the class but I always recommend that they need to know how to balance their time on school, family and happiness. If the students are too much pressured, they may develop into some kind of personality condition as studies say.

And it is also proud to say, when some of your successful students recognized and invited you on their batch reunion. They will renowned you as the center of their success.

A teachers also starts from a students, high school life made us learn from our mistakes, learn how to strive harder for our studies. This is what I want from my students to realize the fact that this is not the end. We all have one life to live, we have the ability to accomplish anything if we use our time wisely. Pay attention to the things that are critical to our happiness and set our priorities for bigger opportunities.

School days are the stepping stone for us to be successful, enjoy your studies as you enjoy your life within.( Contributed article)
