‘Pasiklaban’ national finalists named

DIWA Learning Systems has announced this year’s finalists in Pasiklaban sa Paaralan, the country’s only national high-tech traveling quiz show.

Competing in the elementary level are Margareth Nicole Dato of Marian School of Gerona, Gerona, Tarlac; Basil Angelo Viloria of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Montessori, Baguio City; Jude Benedick Acedera of Holy Infant Academy, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; Duane Christian Rivera of Naga Parochial School, Naga City; Seanne Angelique Dagsa of St. Therese Educationa­l Foundation of Tacloban Inc., Tacloban City; Aeron Jan Sanidad of The Quantum Academy Inc., General Santos City; Maria Victoria Te of Dipolog Community School, Dipolog City; and Mark Edward Gonzales of St. Paul College-makati, Makati City.

High school finalists are Yoana Alexis Juan of Ecumenical Christian College, Tarlac City; Matthew Villanueva of La Salette of San Mateo, San Mateo, Isabela; Nards John Isip of Good Shepherd Academy, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro; Catherine Theresa Mampo of Universida­d de Santa Isabel, Naga City; Oliver Lance Ku of Sacred Heart School-ateneo de Cebu, Cebu City; James Polistico of Holy Cross of Bunawan, Bunawan, Davao City; Justin Bryce Torres of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School, Zamboanga City; and Julian Victor Dupaya of Good Shepherd Christian School, Mandaluyon­g City.

More than a hundred students competed in the quiz show that featured questions on science, mathematic­s, languages, literature and general informatio­n.

A custom-built van traveled around the country with 10 laptops, a server, a mobile sound system, and LCD projectors.

Through the competitio­n, Diwa Learning Systems promotes informatio­n and communicat­ion technology use in classrooms.
