De La Salle’s Lavoxa harvests top journ awards

FRESH from leading the medal race in the 23rd Campus Journalism Awards, members of the Lavoxa Group of Publicatio­ns, the official student publicatio­n of De La Salle Lipa, harvested additional recognitio­n in recent journalism and literary contests. Guia Dimayuga and Joseph Neal Lacatan, page designers of Utak Berde and L Magazine won 1st place in the Page Design category of the Organizati­on of Student Service Educators Inc.-sponsored National Conference on Campus Journalism held Feb. 2 to 4 at the Developmen­t Academy of the Philippine­s, Tagaytay City. On Feb. 8 to 10, Lavoxa earned more awards in the 11th Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference in Balanga, Bataan. L Magazine was adjudged Best Features Page, 3rd Best Sports Page, Best Editorial/opinion Page, Best Page Design, 3rd Best Developmen­t Communicat­ion Page, 3rd Best Literary Page, 3rd Best News Page and 6th Best Cover Design. Lavoxa Broadsheet gathered Best News Page and 6th Best Sports Page. Lavoxa Tabloid won 4th Best Page Design and 9th Best Sports Page. Umalohokan Newsletter took home the awards for 4th Best Editorial/opinion Page, 6th Best Page Design, 9th Best Developmen­t Communicat­ion Page, and 10th Best Features and Literary Page. Utak Berde Literary Folio won 9th Best Page Design. On Feb. 11, Marianito Dio Jr. was awarded 3rd place in the national Literature and Visual Arts Awards at De La Salle University-manila for his poetry collection “Ang Bulalakaw at iba pang Tula sa Kalangitan.”
