PAL adds, cancels flights for Holy Week

PHILIPPINE Airlines (PAL) is adjusting its operations on Holy Week by adding six extra flights to three destinatio­ns and upgrading 20 internatio­nal and two domestic flights by using bigger aircraft.

One additional flight will be mounted to and from the following destinatio­ns—taipei and Puerto Princesa City on April 8; and Hong Kong on April 9.

The flights that will use bigger aircraft to accommodat­e more passengers are those to and from Shanghai (Pudong airport) on April 4; Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Xiamen on April 5; Puerto Princesa City on April 7; Hong Kong, Beijing and Xiamen on April 8; and Xiamen on April 9.

PAL domestic operations on Good Friday, Black Saturday and Easter Sunday will be scaled down with the cancellati­on of 38 flights to seven destinatio­ns to allow the PAL staff to observe Holy Week rituals.

On Good Friday, selected flights to and from the cities of Cotabato, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Tacloban and Zamboanga will be canceled. On Black Saturday, some flights to and from Ce- bu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao will also be canceled.

On Easter Sunday, one flight each to Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga will likewise be canceled.

To avoid hassles, passengers are advised to arrive earlier than usual at the airport, double check travel documents (passport, tickets, etc.) and minimize bringing bulky carry-on baggage.
