Endodontic society to mark 30th year
THE 16TH Biennial of the Endodontic Society of the Philippines (ESP) and its induction ceremony will be held on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bayanihan Hall of Unilab in Pasig City.
The occasion marks the 30th year of the ESP and the inauguration of the incoming president, Dr. Isabel G. Campos-Bustos, and other officers. The program includes lectures by three foreign specialists in the field of endodontics from Hong Kong and Malaysia and one Filipino pediatric dentist.
ESP was established in 1982 with five charter members, all renowned dentists—Elvira Ansaldo, Virginia Toledo, Edna Jimena, Ernesto Vizcarra and Saturnino Guevarra. They were joined by like-minded practitioners who shared the vision of coming together to teach better endodontics to general practitioners. The group has grown to 49 active members, 300 affiliate members and 30 faculty affiliates.
Dr. Bustos graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of Dentistry and went on to obtain her postgraduate residency training in endodontics from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She then taught at The New York University and at the University of the Philippines before settling to her private practice at Rockwell in Makati.
The other officers are: Rolando S. Gonzalez, president-elect; Ramon C. Vasquez, secretary; Vivian Gabaldon, assistant secretary; Maria Josefa E. Nepomuceno, treasurer; Antoinette Veluz, assistant treasurer; Juanestor Pagulayan, auditor; Dr. Iluminada L. Viloria, ex-officio; and Daisy C. See, Melinda E. Gonzalez, Cecille P. Ramos and Emabel S.
