Nominations for annual educational transformation awards now accepted

-

THE SEARCH for schools whose efforts to improve their own learning systems raise the bar of excellence in the country has been launched by Bayan Academy, Rex Book Store and The Knowledge Channel.

The second Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards (EETA) pays tribute to the best practices and educational techniques that are worth sharing with others.

Seven winners will be chosen to receive a trophy and P300,000 cash each. Recipient of the EETA Most Transformative School for Learning Effectiveness and School Efficiency Award will receive a trophy and P500,000.

Nominees would be judged on the following areas of innovation: curriculum design, learning materials, learning methodologies, administrative systems and processes, and learning spaces and places for learning effectiveness.

Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr., Bayan Academy president, said the EETA motivates schools to pursue academic excellence and efficient school administration. The winners exemplified transformation or the ability to innovate and manage changes, resolve a difficult situation and upgrade or uplift education standards.

The annual award is open to all public and private elementary and secondary schools.

Last year’s EETA recipients were Elizabeth Seton School, Las Piñas City (top winner); St. Paul College of San Rafael, Bulacan; Assumpta Technical High School, San Simon, Pampanga; Pembo Elementary School, Makati City; Claret School Zamboanga, Zamboanga City; Ednas School, San Carlos City, Pangasinan; and Colegio San Agustin, Makati City.
