Here are ZTE’S first offerings in the market:
Light Tab 2
This light tablet runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), has a tidy 7-inch TFT (thin film transistor) LCD, capacitive touch screen and a speedy processor that allows for efficient data usage while on the move.
The unit weighs just 402 grams and is small enough to carry around. It also comes with popular apps such as YouTube and Google Talk, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, SNS integration, and FM radio. Its battery life allows for about five hours of movie play, which is ideal for long travels, and seven hours of talk time.
It also features 4GB of built-in memory that can be expanded up to 32GB, enough to store over 200 photographs taken on either the front VGA camera or the 3MP rear camera, or over 500 of the user’s favorite tracks which can be enjoyed with its built-in Dolby mobile sound technology. (SRP: P15,490)
Skate
This most affordable smartphone from ZTE is slim at 11.35 mm, has a large 4.3 inch TFT (thin film transistor) capacitive display with a resolution of 480 x 800, and weighs just 148 grams. Its design style is inspired by the skateboard (thus the name). The Skate runs on Android 2.3 and provides a user-friendly interface with practical and powerful multimedia capabilities.
The smartphone is expected to build on the success of the Blade, another ZTE smart- phone that has been the company’s flagship product for the past 12 months with more than 3 million handsets sold in more than 50 countries.
The Skate is Wi-Fi ready and has a pre-installed 4GB micro SD but supports up to 32GB and also features a 5-MP rear facing camera with LED flash.
Chen says the Skate is an important step for ZTE’s entry into the middle-to-high end smartphone market. (SRP: P13,990)
Kis V788
Kis is an elegantly designed smartphone that runs on Android (Gingerbread), and features a 3.5 TFT (thin film transistor) capacitive touchscreen, a VGA front camera and 3MP rear camera, and a pre-installed 4GB Micro SD expandable up to 32GB.
Popular apps that can be enjoyed with this cell phone include Document Viewer, SMS (threaded view), MMS, E-mail, Push Email, IM, SNS integration, among others. It is Dual SIM-capable and boasts of up to four hours talk time. (SRP: P7,490)
