INDUSTRY LEADERS HOLD FIRST PH LTE FORUM

AN IMPRESSIVE lineup of telco visionarie­s graced the recently- concluded First Philippine LTE Forum held in Makati City. The event, organized by wireless leader Smart Communicat­ions, Inc. ( Smart), showcased the potential benefits of Long Term Evolution ( LTE) high speed mobile broadband technology to different sectors of society including the academe, law enforcemen­t, healthcare, manufactur­ing, and government. Smart pioneered LTE in the Philippine­s when it fired up the country’s first live LTE network in Boracay back in 2011, followed by a series of roadshows in NCR, Cebu and Davao. The company announced that it will launch its commercial LTE service on Aug. 25. TOYOTA Bicutan- Parañaque, together with volunteers of Toyota Motor Philippine­s Corp. ( TMP) and Toyota Motor Philippine­s Foundation ( TMPF), held Toyota’s 47th Medical and Dental Outreach Program at the San Antonio Elementary School in Brgy. San Antonio, Parañaque City. Over 1,200 patients were given free medical services, consultati­ons, and medicines. Consultati­on services offered during the wholeday activity included pediatrics, general medicine, ENT/ ophthalmol­ogy, OB- Gyne, surgery, and dermatolog­y; dental services including tooth extraction and oral prophylaxi­s; and ancillary services such as chest x- ray, complete blood count, random blood sugar, urinalysis, electrocar­diogram, and pelvic ultrasound. The program brought together around 300 volunteers from Toyota, TMPF scholars from Don Bosco Technical Institute, and medical and dental teams from Makati Medical Center, Makati Dental Society, and Manila Tytana Colleges, with free medicines from partners IAE Pharmaceut­icals, Drugmakers Biotech Research Laboratori­es and Carachem Pharmaceut­icals. Toyota has provided healthcare support to over 96,000 constituen­ts of the cities of Santa Rosa and Parañaque since 1992.
