Vienna Orchestra in 15th Toyota Classics
TOYOTA brings back an exclusive cultural experience to classical music enthusiasts in this special onenight performance on Nov. 13 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (main theater)of the Cultural Center of the Philippines
Featured in this year’s Toyota Classics is one of the most respected ensembles in Europe, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra (VCO).
Toyota Classics concerts, now on its 15th year in the Philippines, have delighted music lovers in Asia for two decades.
Also known as the Wiener KammerOrchester, the VCO is Austria's leading chamber ensemble orchestra continuously appearing with the Arnold Schoernberg Choir, the Wiener Singakademie, dies Vienna Chamber Choir and the Hamburg Ballet.
The group's authentic Viennese sound, honed and aged since 1946 earned them invitations to appear all over the world having them play in over 70 countries.
The Vienna Chamber Orchestra averages around 100 concerts per year, with Manila finally added to this year's itinerary.
Aside from pieces by Beethoven and Vivaldi, the VCO will also be reliving Rodger and Hammerstein's Sound of Music with our very own Audie Gemora and Joanna Ampil.
Audie Gemora is a seasoned actor, recording artist, and producer among other things. He is among the founding members of Trumpets and Stages.
Joanna Ampil, on the other hand, is a multi-awarded theatre actress with successful runs in famed productions such as the Sound of Music, Miss Saigon, Avenue Q, West Side Story and Les Miserables.
Leading them as the conductor is Joji Hattori, a world-renowned music director and joining them is Soichi Muraji, considered as one of the most prominent classical guitarists today.
Doors will open at 7:30 in the evening. All proceeds from the Toyota Classics ticket sales will be donated to the Toyota-City of Santa Rosa - Gawad Kalinga Village Project.
