EX-PDIC man for Real Bank

FORMER president of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporatio­n (PDIC) Jose C. Nograles recently joined The Real Bank’s board of directors after his appointmen­t as one of its independen­t directors. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in both investment banking and finance as well as his stellar experience as one of the Philippine­s’ financial regulators.

During his stint at PDIC, Nograles shepherded the passage of amendments to the PDIC charter, at the height of the 2008 financial crisis, allowing the agency to have a more proactive co-regulatory role along with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas by providing institutio­nal and financial strengthen­ing measures to safeguard the interests of the depositing public.

Nograles also led the agency in at- taining ISO certificat­ion through the developmen­t of new business operations to speed up deposit claims processing, enabling depositors to be paid without need for undergoing tedious claims processing.

Prior to his appointmen­t at PDIC, Nograles was senior executive vice president of Landbank of the Philippine­s where he also served as treasurer and head of investment banking. Nograles has a degree in Economics, cum laude, from the Ateneo de Manila University, and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.
