GCIC explores Spanish influence in Philippine tourism
GLOBAL City Innovative College celebrated its 2nd Globalian Tourism Expo last Sept. 25 to 28 with the theme" Spanish Influence in Philippine Tourism." Education Advisor of the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, José Fernando Zapico Teijeiro, gave the keynote speech. The exhibit, prepared by students taking up Domestic Tourism, showcased different destinations in the Philippines reflecting a fusion of Spanish and Filipino culture such as Intra- muros and the Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos. The School of Tourism Management brought together its Tourism students during the weeklong celebration for competitions in tour guiding, travel package proposal making, marketing ad presentation, cultural dance, exhibitions and the quiz bee. These activities provide opportunities for students to hone their skills to achieve certain competencies required by the Tourism program.
