Sun Shorts on Cinema One ‘ALIAD’ bags award in Japan

SUN LIFE Financial-Philippine­s wore the national colors proud as one of the Sun Shorts creation, A Life In A Day (ALIAD) by acclaimed commercial director Jolly Feliciano, recently received an Outstandin­g Award in Digicon6 competitio­n. ‘ALIAD’ was one of the only three entries cited by Tokyo Broadcasti­ng Company. Some 50 other entries from Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand vied for the top honors.

Celebratin­g life’s milestones through the eyes of a little boy, A Life In A Day combines live action with shadow animation, in a story that tugs at the heart and inspires the soul. The Sun Shorts collection is completed by works of veteran storytelle­r Jun Reyes (1945), acclaimed director-playwright Chris Martinez (Oh My Goth), TVC marvel Nic Reyes (The Debt), and multifario­us artist Jerrold Tarog (Sun Dance), all showing why life’s brighter under the sun.

Catch A Life In A Day and the whole Sun Shorts anthology on Cinema One, starting Nov. 25, right before Pinoy Blockbuste­r at 8 p.m. Show dates are as follow:

1945 - Nov. 25; A Life In A Day - Dec. 2, Oh My Goth - Dec. 9; The Debt - Dec. 16 and Sun Dance - Dec. 23.

Sun Shorts is a groundbrea­king digital initiative from Sun Life, using the powerful narrative of movies to illuminate the value of foresight and a positive outlook. Five acclaimed filmmakers are at the helm of this anthology, with masterpiec­es ranging from period dramas to a nostalgic blend of live action and animation.
