Search for Davao’s most outstanding HS graduate

-

THE 48TH SEARCH for Most Outstanding High School Graduate of Davao (MOHSG) is ongoing.

Organized by the Junior Chamber International–Davao Inc., the search’s main event will be held on March 22 at Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao’s activity center.

MOHSG recognizes high school graduates who possess academic excellence, have leadership skills and are involved in school and community affairs. Most past winners and participants have become successful in their chosen fields.

The search is open to any graduating high school student in a public or private secondary institution. The nominee must be in the top 10 percent of his/her graduating class, with an average grade of not lower than 85 percent or its equivalent as of the third grading period of the current school year; must not have a failing mark in any subject in any grading period in his/her final year in high school; must be an incumbent officer of a student or community-based organization; and must not have been subject to any disciplinary action.

Each nominee is rated based on portfolio (30%), self-introduction (10%), panel interview (25%) and on-the-spot essay writing (15%). The 10 grand finalists will move on to the impromptu speaking round (20%) to be held during the main event.

In the past, only three top winners were chosen. Beginning this year, MOHSG will award five. A total of 24 secondary schools, four public schools and 20 private schools have registered for MOHSG 2013.

Athena Cam of Davao Christian High School was grand winner in 2012, with Carmen Phanuelle Delgra of Ateneo de Davao High School and Jemimah Keziah Morales of Southpoint School as second and third prize winners, respectively.
