Enrollment ongoing for Peta Summer Program
ENROLLMENT for the Summer Program of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (Peta) is ongoing.
This year’s Peta Summer Program theme is “Your Stories Take Centerstage.”
Courses offered are: Children’s Theater 1 (ages 6-8), which will feature creative explorations in rhythmic movement, dance, songs, games, paintings, puppetry, storytelling and role-playing; Children’s Theater 2 (ages 9-12), which will allow students to explore and experience music, movement and dance, visual arts, storytelling, drama improvisation, poetry and short story writing, mixed with fun and games; and Teen Theater (ages 13-16), which will allow students to explore improvisational theater and express their youth-oriented concerns through an original production geared toward the development of self and the community.
Theater Arts (ages 17 and up) will give participants fundamental knowledge, skills and attitudes in improvisational theater production, theater history, theater appreciation, aesthetics and criticism.
Basic Acting for Theater (ages 17 and up) will allow students to experience the different schools of acting.
Creative Musical Theater (ages 17 and up) will consist of voice, composition and performance.
Theater in Education is for educators who want to use art skills, theater methods and discipline in class.
At the end of the summer program, every class will present its own production.
