A SPORT utility vehicle (SUV) voluntarily returned by the buyer after finding out that it was stolen was among three vehicles turned over yesterday by Manila police officials to their respective owners.

Senior Supt. Ronald Estilles, deputy director for operations, and Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, chief district directorial staff, returned the Toyota Rav 4 to Glecille Navoa-Yap, an Isuzu Highlander to Christine Ong and a Yamaha Fino motorcycle to Tsino Asilo.

Senior Insp. Rosalino Ibay Jr., chief of the MPD anticarnapping unit, said the SUV was turned over to the police on Feb. 21 by a buyer who found out after almost a year that it was a stolen vehicle.

Yap had reported the loss of theSUV to the Highway Patrol Group after the Mitsubishi Montero she and her husband swapped in a dealwith a certain Alberto Aranzaso in March last year turned out to be a stolen vehicle.

Ong’s Isuzu was stolen in front of her house in Caloocan City on Jan. 20. Asilo, meanwhile, lost his motorcycle that was parked in front of his house in Tondo on Jan. 29.
