UPMAS awards Alday as 2012 outstanding educator
THE University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society (UPMAS) awarded University of Perpetual Rizal-Jonelta Foundation School of Medicine founding dean Dr. Aretas P. Singson-Alday, MD, FPOGS, FPCS as outstanding educator of 2012 during ceremonies held last Dec 20 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City. Since completing her Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 1961, Alday actively participated in the medical and academic field as evidenced by her various endeavors and achievements as a physician, educator, author, and leader. Alday has authored the "Handbook on High Risk Pregnancy" in 1986 and she was a contributing editor in Physiologic Obstetrics" on "Antepartal Care." In June 2000, Dr. Alday received the Outstanding Professional Award in Medicine from the University of Philippines Alumni Association. A year later, she received the Baldomero Roxas Memorial Lecture Awardee for Academic Excellence from POGS. In April 2011, UPHS DALTA Jonelta Foundation School of Medicine bestowed a loyalty award to Alday for her 15 years of untiring service as an educator.
