PAARL honors FEU Library for outstanding academic and research

THE Philippine Association of Academic Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) honored the Far Eastern University Library with the Outstanding Academic/Research Library Award during the PAARL 2012 Awards at the Technological Institute of the Philippines last Jan. 25. The FEU Library was recognized for its outstanding contribution to academic and research librarianship and library development along with exceptional leadership in national/regional library development in the areas of library management, education and training, information and documentation ser- vices. University librarian Teresita Moran shared plans for the FEU Library, one of which is the expansion of the Main Library and housing all academic libraries of the university inside the Nicanor Reyes Hall. She also noted that FEU Library's security gate is state of the art and the only one in the Philippines. Moran was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for her consistent service as an outstanding academic and research librarian. It is the association's highest recognition to an academic/research librarian as a hallmark of professional excellence.
