PAARL honors FEU Library for outstandin­g academic and research


THE Philippine Associatio­n of Academic Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) honored the Far Eastern University Library with the Outstandin­g Academic/Research Library Award during the PAARL 2012 Awards at the Technologi­cal Institute of the Philippine­s last Jan. 25. The FEU Library was recognized for its outstandin­g contributi­on to academic and research librarians­hip and library developmen­t along with exceptiona­l leadership in national/regional library developmen­t in the areas of library management, education and training, informatio­n and documentat­ion ser- vices. University librarian Teresita Moran shared plans for the FEU Library, one of which is the expansion of the Main Library and housing all academic libraries of the university inside the Nicanor Reyes Hall. She also noted that FEU Library's security gate is state of the art and the only one in the Philippine­s. Moran was given the Lifetime Achievemen­t Award for her consistent service as an outstandin­g academic and research librarian. It is the associatio­n's highest recognitio­n to an academic/research librarian as a hallmark of profession­al excellence.
