BLT MEANS FUN AND GOOD NUTRITION
Jollibee employees from Metro North stores recently hosted a feeding activity for 40 Grades 1 and 2 students at San Juan’s Pinaglabanan Elementary School (PES) under Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT), the in-school feeding program of Jollibee Group Foundation. Under BLT, kids get nutritious lunches every day for eight months. PES principal Dr. Lydia Abeja said 65 percent of students had attained the normal body mass index because of BLT, which started in July in their school. Jollibee Philippines president Jose Miñana Jr. and regional business unit head of Metro North Jojo Subido joined their employee volunteers. Jollibee’s other regional business units across the country have also adopted BLT for schools in their respective districts. Jollibee customers may make donations through BLT coin banks found in all of the chain’s 780 stores nationwide. For only P11 a day, a pupil gets a hot and nutritious meal. Since 2007, BLT has fed over 60,000 pupils in 198 cities and municipalities around the country.
