Bulldogs seek 4th straight vs Tams today

- By Cedelf P. Tupas

NATIONAL University takes on fellow UAAP powerhouse Far Eastern U today to kick off a tough grind of three games in the next six days in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.

The Bulldogs are gunning for their fourth straight win against the Tamaraws in the 4:15 p.m. clash that comes after the University of the East-San Sebastian tussle at Filoil Flying V Arena.

Its confidence boosted by a win over Lyceum last week, Southwestern U battles Emilio Aguinaldo College at 12:45 p.m. in its last elimination-round game.

With Ray Parks consistently dishing out all-around performances, the Bulldogs breezed through their first three assignments, including an 81-70 trouncing of Jose Rizal U.

The bulk of the Bulldogs’ assignments were scheduled this week because of their planned trip to Perth, Australia, where they will play in a pocket tournament in preparation for the UAAP season.

Aside from Parks, National will also lean on JJ Alejandro and Alfred Aroga, the versatile Cameroonian who will be joining forces with compatriot Emmanuel Mbe this season.

The Tamaraws remain formidable with an almost intact lineup from last season led by guards RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo, who spearheaded FEU in the 88-81 win over Perpetual last Saturday.
