Emergency tips for kids

-

ANVIL Publishing and the Emergency Research Center released recently “Let’s Get Ready!” to teach parents and kids how to prepare for calamities.

The book covers four basic emergencies—storms, floods, fires, and earthquakes—and features mnemonics to help children memorize important steps before, during and after the events.

It has an adult supervision section that discusses the details of these steps.

Tips are shared in a manner and format that are understandable and provide an opportunity for family bonding.

“Let’s Get Ready!” is written by survival experts Regi Cruz and Louie Domingo, who have been teaching schools and companies disaster preparedness strategies through team-building activities like games and exercises.

Anvil Publishing Inc., with Nestlé Kit Kat, gives customers a summer treat with “Let’s Get Ready.” Anyone who buys the book at participating bookstores by May 18 will get a free eight-piece multipack from Kit Kat.

They will also get a free pass to the “Let’s Get Ready” workshop on May 18 at Powerbooks Greenbelt.

The Emergency Research Center Inc. is a nonstock, not-for-profit organization which supports the philosophy that all Filipinos must be provided with appropriate, sustainable, self-reliant, life-saving resources, knowledge and technology.
