RGV to highlight National Land Use Bill at 7th CREBA Meet
THE HONORABLE RODOLFO G. Valencia, was the guest of honour and speaker during the 7th Monthly Business Meeting of the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders' Associations, Inc. (CREBA) held at noontime on the 25th of July 2013 at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental, One Ayala Avenue, Makati City.
According to Charlie A. V. Gorayeb, CREBA National President, Congressman Valencia provided updates on the proposed National Land Use Act which are now pending in both Houses of Congress.
Founded in 1973 by known real estate leader and advocate Manuel M. Serrano, CREBA is the umbrella organization of individuals, business corporations, and professional associations in housing and real estate development. Among its members are real estate developers, contractors, brokers, appraisers, financiers, supplies manufacturers and distributors, architects and urban planners, engineers, economists, and social scientists. It has more than 30 chapters spread out among all the regions of the Philippines, as well in the United States, London, and Asia.
A widely-recognized businessman, civic leader and a gentleman politician, Congressman RGV is a familiar name among brokers, developers, realtors, businessmen, property owners and investors. He took a paradigm shift in 1987 when he decided to join politics armed with the expertise he earned from the corporate world. He first served as Congressman of the first district of Oriental Mindoro from 1987-1992, then eventually as provincial governor from 1992-2001, and again as congressman from 2004-2013.
In 2007, Valencia was conferred the BizNews Asia's Who's Who in Real Estate Award (BREW). He has likewise been hailed in the Hall of Fame of the Manila Realtors Board, awarded as one the "Nation's Great Achievers", recognized for his outstanding achievements by CREBA, PAREB, and Phil-Eagles, Inc., and recipient of the Anvil Award as the author of the RGV Pabahay Program - hailed as an outstanding project of in the field of housing. In 2001, his alma mater San Beda College honoured him as Bedan of the Century Awardee.
Among the many organizations he has served either as President or top officer are the: Philippine Council for Planning and Housing (PCPH); Philippine Association of Realtors Boards (PAREB); Asia-Pacific Real Estate Federation; Philippine Real Estate Exchange; Manila Board of Realtors (MBR); Paris-based Federacion Internationale Des Professiones Immobilieres (FIABCI), Philippine Chapter; ASEAN Association for Planning and Housing (AAPH); Subdivision Owners Association of the Philippines (SOAP), and CREBA INC., of which he is an original incorporator.
At the House of Representatives, RGV has always been among the top 20 Congressmen; while former Pres. Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph E. Estrada commended him as the Most Outstanding Governor because of his leadership and good governance.
