Las Farolas draws overwhelmi­ng support of tour & travel agencies

LAS FAROLAS, THE MUSEUM OF RIVER monsters and the first of its kind in the world has drawn the overwhelmi­ng support of tour and travel agencies operating in Metro-Manila and nearby provinces.

The support is in the form of including Las Farolas in the agencies' tour programs for foreign and domestic tourists as well as for students in private and public schools.

Recently, the agencies in separate schedules conducted ocular visits to the two-storey facility in Frontera Verde beside Tiendesita­s, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. On hand to welcome and tour the tour operators and their staff was Bernie Repalbor, chief operating officer of Las Farolas. Repalbor briefed the guests about the newest destinatio­n in Metro-Manila. He was assisted by the tour guides in introducin­g the over 3,000 freshwater species which include the monstrous and scary-looking Arapaima, Arowana, Wels Catfish and Australian Lungfish.

During their tour, the guests were also able to view replicas of centuries-old churches and Spanish period lighthouse­s, tribal and cultural artifacts, and dwellings of indigenous people set in diorama. Las Farolas is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday and 9:00 AM to 8:00 on weekends and holidays.
