Family and Child Summit
THE MOVIE and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is holding a Family and Child Summit today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bahay Kalinaw, UP Diliman. The summit seeks to empower parents to better understand and utilize the MTRCB’s ratings and classification system. Resource persons include Honey Carandang, Emily Abrera, Vangie Evalle and main speaker, Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares.
‘Mixing Colors, Making History’
Ongoing until Sept. 15 at the National Museum is “Mixing Colors, Making History,” an exhibition of palettes and art materials at the Masters Hall of the National Art Gallery.

‘The Newsroom’
The premiere screening of the newest season of HBO’s “The Newsroom” will be held on July 30 at 1 p.m. at UP’s Palma Hall, with an open forum featuring Maria Ressa.
HBO also announces that it has received 108 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most for any network this year. Specifically, “Game of Thrones” leads with 16 nomina- tions, 15 for “Behind the Candelabra,” 11 for “Phil Spector,” and 10 for “Boardwalk Empire.”
Ovation for ‘Katy!’ preview
Last Wednesday’s preview performance of “Katy!” at Meralco Theater received an exuberant ovation from viewers, auguring well for the ongoing series of repeat performances at the hit musical’s bigger venue (until Aug. 4). Call 899-8089.

The Storytelling Project, a reading advocacy that reaches out to kids in remote com- munities, has partnered with wireless leader, Smart Communications, for Pledge Run 2013: Run for Reading.
