P-NOY URGES OSHDP, HUDCC TO DOUBLE HOUSING EFFORTS

PRES. BENIGNO S. AQUINO III HAS urged on the Organization of Socialized Housing Developers of the Philippines, Inc. (OSHDP), and the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) to continue to work hand-in-hand in building quality, affordable homes for our citizens.

Pres. Aquino made the call in a written message for the 4th OSHDP-HUDCC National Convention slated on August 28-29, 2013 at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.

"Our administration exhorts you to redouble your efforts in maintaining a dynamic housing and urban development sector capable of responding to the challenges of our rapidly changing milieu," Pres. Aquino said.

The convention, expected to be attended by some 300 subdivision developers, as well as real estate practitioners and stakeholders involved in low-income housing, is focused on the theme: "Sapat na Pabahay Para sa Maunlad na Buhay."

Pres. Aquino emphasized that shelter is a basic need and right, and that having a roof above our heads bolsters our determination to pursue our goals and participate further in nation-building.

"That is why your government strives to advance our National Shelter Program, providing our people with socialized housing and other opportunities to improve their lot," the President added.
