Inter-school jungolf begins at Valley, Capitol

TWO hundred-forty players from 19 schools are seeing action in the 4th ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School Golf Championsh­ips which gets going today at Valley and Capitol Hills golf courses.

Kicking off hostilitie­s in the series that will be played for 16 consecutiv­e weekends is the Midgets 1 play at Valley and Girls 3 action at Capitol Hills.

Aside from Midgets 1 and Girls 3, the other events on tap are Seniors (boys college), Juniors and Midgets 2, Girls 1 and Girls 2.

All teams will be playing five times with only their four best aggregate scores to count. The best four out of five scorers un- der the Molave system of scoring will count per playing day.

“We doff our hats to all the schools which have allowed their students to join us again in the Inter-school series,” said Luigi Tabuena, president of Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippine­s. “This will ensure the continued exposure to competitio­ns for our junior players.”

Teams fielding entries in the seven categories: Ateneo, La Salle Green Hills, De La Salle Zobel, DLSU-Taft, La Salle Canlubang, College of St. Benilde, Assumption, Brent, British School Manila, School of Tomorrow, Jesus Flock Academy, OB Montessori Greenhills, Montessori Integrated School, St. Paul’s Pasig, Xavier, Colegio San Agustin, The Masters Academy, Laurel Spring School, Learning Links, Elizabeth Seton and MGC, ICA, MGC New Life Academy.
