Panahon.TV celebrates 1st anniversary
PANAHON.TV, the only television program dedicated exclusively to delivering accurate weather newscasts celebrated its first anniversary on Sept. 10 at the PAGASA Weather and Flood Forecasting Center in Diliman, Quezon City.
Resident reporter Harry Bayona hosted the anniversary program. Guests were treated to a visual flashback with series of video presentations on how Panahon.TV started.
Panahon.TV also reminisced their first inclement weather encounter when a Low Pressure Area was under observation during the show’s pilot episode and was declared as a tropical depression named Karen on the second day.
Presidential Communication Operations Office (PCOO) Usec. Eduardo Visperas, People’s Television Network’s general manager Cleo Dongga-as, PAGASA chief of Hydromet Division Dra. Susan Espinueva, Trapik.com’s president Shiella Johnson and Philippine Star’s sales director Mike Manese graced the occasion.
Lina Group of Companies’ chair Alberto Lina, gave his congratulatory message for Panahon.TV and addressed how important is the show to serve the people especially during calamities. “Ako’y nagagalak at natutuwa na ang Panahon.TV ay naka- survive for one year and I hope with God’s blessing we will do it more in the coming years so keep up the good work and may all be blessed with God’s graces this coming year.”
“Panahon TV has proven to be reliable partner during inclement or fair weather, as it also provides relevant news and educational facts. On this note, Iwould also like to commend Panahon.TV for conducting a special coverage on Typhoon Pablo in 2012, as well as the succeeding weather disturbances,” PAGASA chief of Hydromet Division said through her speech.
Panahon.TV executive producer, Donna May Lina-Flavier, said that the show will continue to strive harder to be able to give more accurate weather information in pursuant to the program’s thrust in serving the country.
DOST Gawad Scriba and Wind Vane Award Recipient Panahon.TV is produced by UBE Media Inc. together with the PCOO and PTV and presented by total logistics solutions provider AIR21, airs daily, Mondays to Sundays, 5:00 to 5:30 a.m. on People’s Television (PTV4), with hourly updates, Panahon.TV Express from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
