Latest technology makes Da Vinci exhibit come alive
3M PHILIPPINES and The Mind Museum have come together to make science fun.
To make shows, like the Da Vinci-The Genius exhibit, ongoing until Nov. 30, more dramatic or engaging, The Mind Museum relies, to a large extent, on 3M technology to fascinate both kids and adults.
As a major donor, 3M Philippines has made the museum a state-of-the-art learning facility to quench the Filipinos’ thirst for science discovery.
Inside the museum, 3M’s Controltac Graphic films were used for most exhibits, as well as signages, said Carol Tobias- Pobre, exhibit manager.
The durable, dimensionally stable, vinyl 3M film is used in most graphics, markers and directional signs in the galleries. The pressureactivated adhesive products have a smooth, barely there finish, giving the museum its high-tech, world-class look.
3M also provided Scotchcal Luster Floor Overlaminate, the films used in indoor floor and vertical graphics. The special film provides additional ultraviolet and durable physical protection for selected graphic constructions.
At the very heart of the exhibits were 3M’s Structured Cabling Solutions, which “essentially make The Mind Museum operational,” said Bryant R. Cabantac, assistant exhibit engineer.
The structured cabling solutions technology was used to provide end-to-end copper and fiber connectivity products for seamless wired and wireless networks.
Nene Amen, 3M Philippines manager for corporate marketing and business planning, said the company supported The Mind Museum’s campaign to spread love for science. “Innovation is what 3M is all about,” she said.
The ongoing Da Vinci exhibit features life-size machine inventions, mechanical exhibits that can be pushed, pulled or cranked, and even video presentations of the multifaceted genius’ most famous artworks. Museum visitors can have questions answered in the special exhibition.
