Veteran triathlete says wearing compression socks is a good training aid
AT AGE 50, Frank Lacson is called the country’s grand daddy in triathlon.
In 1992 he became the first Filipino triathlete to compete overseas. In 2013, he joined the Subic International Marathon 42K (finishing 10th overall) and the National AG Triathlon Subic AG (second place, 50-54 age group).
The Olongapo native says that to keep up with his game, an athlete should have discipline, the heart of a champion and commitment to hard work. “Even with the best trainer or equipment, an athlete can never accomplish much without those three factors.”
But even with such an athletic lifestyle, Lacson says the body tends to show signs of aging in the form of frequent leg cramps, knee pains and injuries. “Besides adjusting to workout routines, it helps to have a training aid like CEP compression socks,” says Frank.
Developed using the advanced stitching technology by Medi, the socks provide improved blood circulation, preventative function, muscle and joint stabilization, increased coordination, and faster reaction.
Apart from providing extra protection from UV rays, the brightly colored CEP compression socks also ensure safety by providing extra visibility in early morning or during dusk training sessions.
Exclusively distributed by Sports Resources Inc., CEP compression socks are available at select branches of Tobys, Runnr, Olympic World, Royal Sporting House, Extreme Bike Shop, Secondwind Proshop, Centercourt Inc., Planet Sports, The Athlete’s Foot, and Brooks Concept Store.
