Another seminar on demand guarantees, Feb. 26-27
A TWO-DAY seminar on Revised International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Rules on Demand Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit for Bankers, Investors, Importers, Exporters and Lawyers will be held on Feb. 26-27 at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
The seminar is conducted by the ICC, in collaboration with the Center for Global Best Practices.
Participants will learn how to apply the revised rules on bank guarantees and standby letters of credit, as interpreted by the ICC.
Focus will be on practical usage of the instruments, new definitions and many examples to highlight right practices and how to avoid common pitfalls.
The seminar will provide a step-by-step approach to the use of the instruments. Participants will learn the main differences between standbys and guarantees and how to implement and interpret these ICC rules in everyday business transactions.
The two-day comprehensive program will feature Uniform Rules for Forfaiting 800, Uniform Rules on Bank Payment Obligations and Uniform Rules on Demand Guarantees 758, the universal standard rules in business transactions.
Resource person is Pavel Andrle, an international trade finance expert and lead resource person on Uniform Rules on Demand Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit.
He has worked for a number of leading local and international banks in various key positions and is a resource person in ICC National Committees seminars.
Participants will get best practices advice, solutions to problems, a comprehensive checklist in drafting recommendations and ready-to-use models for maximum learning.
Accredited by the Supreme Court, the seminar will earn lawyers four units under the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education program.
