PDI man in H’wood reports from red carpet, backstage
OUR INDEFATIGABLE man in Hollywood, Ruben V. Nepales, will cover this year’s Academy Awards, from the red carpet to the backstage. He will be reporting for INQUIRER print, online, Twitter and, communication lines permitting, radio.
As he did last year, Nepales is set to live-tweet, preawards show, about developments on the red carpet and his own observations. Then he rushes backstage before the awards rites. From there, following live show proceedings on TV monitors, he will live-tweet announcements of winners, as well as the acceptance remarks, as they are made on themain stage
Backstage is where winners are ushered to after they receive their trophies. Nepales is among the first journalists who will get to interview them. He is writing a behind-the-scenes feature for the INQUIRER’s news pages.
Nepales has been writing this section’s thrice-weekly column “Only In Hollywood” since 2005.
The column has featured the biggest and/or most current Hollywood headliners, as well as Filipinos on the world stage.
